Golden Gardens Park is a waterfront park located in Ballard on Puget Sound. This place offers breathtaking views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

Nowadays park is really beautiful. Two wetlands as well as the northern beach area in the park have been recently restored, new trails have been established. The park looks very pretty and inviting. Golden Gardens opens perfect possibilities for family recreation, everyone will find something to enjoy here: hikes through the forest, strolls along the coastline, fishing from a pier, sunbathing, baseball, play area for kids, and a boat launch.

Photo from King County, Seattle, Golden Gardens ParkDog owners also adore this park because here there is a very nice off-leash area. It is situated in the upper northern part of the park. Dogs enjoy their freedom here is a full sense of this word. Of course, owners take a look on them, but it’s totally “dogs’ place”.

It should be said that volunteers play an important role in the life of the park, especially in the North Beach restoration project. These people who dedicate their time, efforts and themselves educate visitors and at the same time they help staff members with different kinds of restoration work as well as they successfully participate in many other park projects. If you leave in Seattle and want to become a friend and a helper in Golden Gardens, become a volunteer. For additional information call (206) 625-06-91.

Several words should be said about park’s bathhouse. This historic bathhouse was built in 1930s and renewed in 2004. It offers opportunities to host such special events as weddings or other ceremonies. In 2005 it was designated a historic landmark of the city.

Those who come here to sunbath and swim should remember that water is cold here even in summer. But Golden Gardens Park is perfect for water recreation, including sailing, kayaking, canoeing, sailboarding, etc.

Golden Gardens Park is also famous for the birds that can be found here. Most of the birds live here and there are those that migrate: Mallard ducks, Red-winged blackbirds, Canada geese, Wood ducks, Eagles, and of course seagulls. Keep in mind that Canada geese and Mallard ducks can attack visitors.
